Who could have predicted in the 1990s, when the CD format dominated and seemed here to stay, that vinyl would make a strong comeback among music lovers some 20 years later? Diggin’ highlights the passion that drives three vinyl album collectors, always on the hunt for forgotten treasures. Like archaeologists, they explore Sergey’s cluttered store and its dusty basement in hopes of finding a rare gem or perhaps discovering curiosities they didn’t even know existed.

The care that went into designing the album covers that accompanied these records, and the information they contained (lyrics, musicians' names, large-format photographs), is sorely missed in the digital age and on streaming platforms. In the dematerialized world we live in, it’s comforting to take refuge in the tactile and physical sensations offered by the experience of searching for vinyl and listening to music engraved on this medium.
