Affonso Uchôa was born in Brazil in 1984. He has been filming for about ten years. Arabia (2017), which he co-directed with João Dumans, was awarded in many festivals around the world. Seven Years in May (2019), his next film, won an award at the Burning Lights International Competition when it premiered at Visions du Réel. His films refresh the political vocation of Latin American cinema, pushing it towards radical self-reflection.
