Alain Cliche is a former Montréal alternative music DJ, screenwriter and writer. In 1996, he wrote the documentary Voir au-delà des apparences about a young blind boy. In 1997, he wrote his first short film La pesanteur de l'air which won the Jury Prize at the Yorkton Festival in Saskatchewan. His novels Accro vinyle (2006) and Normal (2009), published by Éditions Trois-Pistoles, express his passion for music and his knowledge of the underground scene of the 1980s. In 2011, he co-directed MTL Punk: The First Wave, a documentary on the emergence of the Montréal punk scene.
