Alexandra Kandy Longuet was born in Paris. After graduating from the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy and the Université Paris III, she contributed to several exhibitions before setting off for Argentina. She trained in filmmaking in Belgium. As She Left, her first film, won the Grand Prix at the Message to Man Festival. In 2017, she won a SCAM Etoile for Nouvelle-Orléans, laboratoire de l’Amérique. She also makes radio documentaries for Belgium’s RTBF and France Culture. Vacancy (2018) her most recent film also won a SCAM Etoile and have been shown at several international festivals.
