Alexia Roc is a young Quebec-Haitian screenwriter, director, and artistic director based in Montreal. She has a passion for crafting unique and authentic characters that bring underrepresented realities to the screen. Her feminist activism and Métis heritage inspire her to address deeply personal and significant topics. With a master’s degree in film production from Concordia University, she explores feminist cinematic experiments as therapeutic tools to redefine and process experiences of abuse and trauma. Since 2021, she has produced and directed the social web series Entre Parenthèses, which features duos engaging in meaningful discussions on sensitive contemporary issues, fostering dialogue on a variety of social topics. Her short film Bergen, Norway won the Grand Prize for "Tourner à tout Prix!" at the 2023 Regard Festival, along with two awards at the VUES Festival. Her most recent film, Trois vagins qui crient, continues to tour over fifteen festivals.
