Anja Kofmel
Anja Kofmel, born in 1982, studied animated film at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences - Design & Art, Switzerland and at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Since 2011 she works as an independent animation and documentary filmmaker and illustrator. In 2018 her first feature film, the animated documentary "Chris the Swiss", premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Semaine de la Critique. It has been screened at over 100 festivals around the world, and has won several awards. In 2020, Anja Kofmel launched her new animation studio “"Asako Film" in collaboration with producers Sereina Gabathuler (Dschoint Ventschr Film Produktion, Zurich) and Nicolas Burlet (Nadasdy Film, Geneva). She is currently writing on her next feature film "Frozen Soil" “, a hybrid of animation and feature film about the versatility of human perception and the impact of new technologies on society.
