Born on June 9, 1944, Bernard Queysanne began his career in television and became Robert Enrico's second assistant. He focused on the depth of feelings and the hold they can have on an individual. Among his body of work are The Man Who Sleeps (1974), co-directed with the writer Georges Perec who is the author of the eponymous novel, for which he received the Jean Vigo prize. Queysanne also directed The Devil in the Heart (1976), the story of a teenage love, as well as a light comedy, and The Pocket Lover (1978), in which a high school student experiences a brief passion with a rich call girl.
