Born in Gaspésie and with a degree in philosophy, Carl Leblanc is a filmmaker and a writer. He has made some twenty documentaries, including The Heart of Auschwitz (2011), Le commun des mortels (2017) and Perdre Mario (2021). He has published stories, Le personnage secondaire (2006), Fruits (Prix Jovette-Bernier 2014) and a novel, Artéfact (finalist for the Prix des collégiens 2014). He lives in Montréal, where he plays hockey every Thursday morning.
