Christina Vandekerckhove graduated with distinction from Audiovisual Arts at KASK, in Gand (Belgium). She has since worked as a freelancer director, mainly for television and theatre. Her first documentary feature Rabot (2017) won many awards around the world. She then directed two short fiction films in 2020: Mia and Stella.
