Dane Komljen was born in 1986 in Banja Luka, in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He studied cinema and art, notably at Le Fresnoy. Since then, he has directed the feature films All The Cities of the North (2016), Afterwater (2022), and The Garden Cadences (2024), as well as numerous short films exploring the concepts of body, space, utopia, and communal living. He lives and works in Berlin.
