Dariusz Kowalski was born in Poland in 1971. Since 1991 he has lived in Austria where he studied media art at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In 2008 he won the Austrian Encouragement Prize for Film Art. He is currently an assistant at the Department of Contemporary Media at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz. As an acclaimed audiovisual artist, Dariusz Kowalski has chosen the method of patient observation by means of the experimental camera, challenging the usual methods of observing the surrounding reality to explore new forms of images.
