For the past 30 years, French sound artist Eric La Casa has been questioning the perception of reality and attempting to broaden the notion of the infra-ordinary, that low-intensity space-time, from background noise to the inaudible that passes beside expectation. Through his in situ listening processes, he listens to reality to reveal its phenomenological power. Just as a map enhances the reading of a country, the in situ aesthetic object renews our relationship with space and time. La Casa has been working in the field of sound creation since the early 1990s through recording, record production, installation, radio, and various types of publications.
