Filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, and producer, Igor Minaev was born in the USSR in 1954, in Kharkiv. He completed his studies at the Faculty of Cinema in Kyiv in 1977 and began his career as a filmmaker in Odesa, in the _Perestroika _period, in which he perfectly embodied the spirit with his two feature films, A Cold March (1988) et First Floor (1990). Both films were selection for the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes. Since the end of the 1980s, he lives and works in France where he directed The Flood (1993), Moon Glades (2002), Far From Sunset Boulevard (2006), and Blue dress (2016), selected at the Berlinale.
