Jacquelyn Mills is a Nova Scotian filmmaker based in Montreal. Her works are immersive and sensory, often exploring an intimate and lyrical connection with nature. Her film In the Waves (2017) premiered at Visions du Réel in Nyon. Her most recent work, Geographies of Solitude (2022), had its world premiere in the Forum section of the Berlinale, where it won three awards. Since then, this film has won 19 awards worldwide, including Best Canadian Feature and Best Emerging Director at Hot Docs. Jacquelyn Mills has also worked as an editor, sound designer, and cinematographer on numerous internationally acclaimed films.
