Jacques Gagné was born on October 30, 1936 in Montreal. He is mainly known for his work as an editor (Les beaux dimanches, Les noces de papier, Le vent du Wyoming, Mon amie Max), although he was also a director (La Conquête) and producer (Mourir à tue-tête, Cordélia). He also co-directed two films with the great French ocean explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau in 1982: Du grand large aux Grands Lacs and Les pièges de la mer. He died on November 6, 1994.
