In 2007, Jeanne Debarsy graduated from the IAD as a sound engineer and immediately collaborated with many artists from various disciplines. She is particularly passionate about the medium of radio as it gives her a freedom of action and expression that is precious to her. Nourishing a growing desire to put her own conceptions on the air, she directs her first radio documentary in 2011 Ino Vaovao Mada? where she mixes her passion for travel and meeting people with her passion for music and sound. She then directed Los Santos (2013) and Terre Noire (2014), widely broadcast in festivals and on the air. In 2017, she co-wrote her first work of audio fiction La première fois que je suis devenu fou(le), a binaural piece selected in prestigious festivals and awarded at the Grand Prix Nova 2018. This marked the beginning of a more experimental period where sound takes precedence over speech, as evidenced by her pieces Avec le vent, Fragments from Africa, Échappée, as well as her installation piece Listen to the Pulse at Nuit Blanche in Brussels (2019). In 2018, she received the PRIX RADIO from Scam Belgium for her body of work. More recently, she completed two sound documentaries entitled Après la pluie and Sous l'eau, les larmes du poisson ne se voient pas and is involved with the collective We Lo(u)ve Radio, creating in situ and live performances and sound installations.
Virginia, Aram, and Vardan whisper their feelings. Through their breath one can hear their stories take shape: stories of exile, memories of Armenia, one morning when the wind blew, when they had to leave everything behind.
