A documentary filmmaker since the 1980s, Louise Giguère started out with the Vidéo Femmes de Québec collective. She is interested in raising awareness of the different conditions of life in society, breaking down prejudices and contributing to the improvement of the quality of life in general. Her documentaries deal with themes such as health, life at work, the new job market for women, the life of Indigenous people, etc. In 2003, she directed the documentary Se donner corps et âme which deals with the difficult conditions of today's working world; overload and precariousness. In 2006, she co-directed with Jason Brennan and Joséphine Bacon the documentary series Tshinanu which demonstrates the vitality of First Nations communities. She has directed many other documentaries on Aboriginal realities, social inequalities and the status of women.
