Marie-Violaine Brincard is a French director with a degree in modern literature and a Master's 2 in film and audiovisual production. After working for many years on Rwanda, and devoting her first essay to a survivor of the Tutsi genocide, D'un monde à l'autre (2007), she directed Au nom du Père, de tous, du ciel, a film that won several festival awards. Her subsequent projects, which she now co-directs with Olivier Dury (Si j'existe, je ne suis pas un autre in 2014, L'homme qui penche in 2020), follow a similar political and aesthetic approach: offering a space of visibility to those who have none.
A major poet of the late 20th century, Thierry Metz (1956-1997) worked as a laborer or seasonal worker in the Lot-et-Garonne region. He transformed each stage of his life into poetic material. The film sheds light on the tragic intensity of his brief existence and the radical nature of his artistic commitment.
