Born in 1978 in São Paulo city, Marina Weis is a creative film director, producer, cinematographer and editor with more than 20 years of experience. She graduated with a B.A. in Social Sciences at the University of São Paulo and studied direction of photography at Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television de San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. In 2006 she was a guest student at the Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart, Germany. We Others (2013), her first experimental documentary, is an inner and outer journey through the Latin American landscapes and its human conflicts. Her second feature-length documentary _The Wind Blows the Border_, co-directed with Laura Faerman, won a Special jury prize at Hot Docs in 2022. She speaks 4 languages and works as an educator, curator and freelancer filmmaker around the world. She now lives in Berlin, Germany.
