Méryl Fortunat-Rossi discovered photography in high school in Nîmes before turning to audiovisual. From 2001 to 2005, he studied directing in Belgium at the IAD. After many freelance jobs for the small screen (RTBF), he devoted himself to cinema. Author of several short documentaries, he signs in particular Aparicion selected in the festivals of Aix-en-Provence, Amiens, Split, Jihalava, Badalona... Awarded the Audience Prize at the Lago Festival (Italy), the film was also pre-nominated for the Magritte du cinéma. On the fiction side, he explores with Xavier Seron, a dark and uncomplicated humor cinema. Together, they co-directed : Mauvaise-Lune a fake ethylic documentary, L'Ours noir, a forestry potacherie crowned with the Magritte of the best short film 2016 or Le Plombier, an erotic-acoustic romantic comedy Magritte of the best short film 2017. His first feature film La Grand-Messe (co-directed with Valéry Rosier) started his career by receiving the Audience Award at the Brussels Film Festival.
