Michaël Dacheux grew up in the 1980s in the Landes region of France. After studying cinema and working as an assistant on several shoots, he made his first medium-length film, Commune présence, in 2008, which was selected for the FID Marseille. For his next film, Here and There, he returns to his hometown to document the passage of time. Then came Love Blooms, his first feature film, shot over a year at the rate of one weekend per month. The film was presented at the Cannes Film Festival at the ACID, released in theatres in January 2019, and traveled to several international festivals. Michaël Dacheux is also involved in several film education initiatives and teaches at the University of Paris 8. He was a member of the editorial board of the film magazine Vertigo.
