Nicolas Boisclair is a professional eco-educator who is also passionate about wilderness expeditions. Since 2008, he has devoted his energy to documentary films with the goal of raising awareness of social issues in the general public. Energy, social issues, justice, equity, and the environment are themes that are dear to him. Seeking the Current (2010), which he co-directed with Alexis de Gheldere, is his first documentary. He was also the researcher for Anticosti: The Hunt for Extreme Oil (2014) and L'or du Golfe (2015), as well as assistant director for Footprints (2015).
Nicolas Boisclair and Alexis de Gheldere collaborate with Quebecois film star Roy Dupuis on this documentary about environmental advocacy. The film is a critique of Hydro-Quebec's Romaine River initiative, a plan to construct four dams along the 500-kilometer waterway. It's also a story of devolution from social democratic ideals to greed and environmental destructiveness.
