Born in Morocco, Ouahib Mortada first obtained a diploma in civil and rural engineering, which he completed with studies in humanities. He moved to France in 1991 and quickly became involved in movements fighting for the rights of the disadvantaged. He practiced journalism, hosted several programs on local radio stations and was involved in several amateur theater companies. He then turned to cinema, obtained a degree in cultural mediation and became an active member of associations (Pachamama, Images et Paroles Engagées, Film Flamme and Numéro Zéro) before completing a training in image and sound techniques in 2015.
