Originally from the village of Armagh in Bellechasse, Patrick Damien studied at INIS and then worked in television. His short fiction film Bienvenue au monde (2008), that deals with the distance established between a father and his son, brought attention at festivals. In 2015, he shot the short La crise du cinéaste québécois, a tribute to Quebec cinema featuring Alexandre Castonguay, Édith Paquet, Didier Bourdon and Antoine Bertrand. He produced, directed and edited the web series Les passeurs du conte (2016) in which 5 storytellers share their passion for their art. His feature documentary Family Demolition (2015) won awards at the Festival de cinéma de la ville de Québec and at the RVQC, where it received the Pierre and Yolande Perrault Award.
