Paule Zajdermann graduated from IDHEC in 1974. She then became assistant director and scriptwriter in film and television. In 1984, she made her first documentary, a portrait of Wim Wenders for the show Étoiles et Toiles. Since she began making documentaries, four themes have been particularly close to her heart: children, work, literature and women. She also directed several telefilms for French television. From 2007 to 2019, she worked for the fiction division of France Télévisons.
