Born in 1967 in the West Bank, Raed Andoni is a self-taught filmmaker who has been involved in the development of independent cinema in Palestine since 1997. By founding his production company Dar Films, Andoni created the structure in Ramallah that launched his career. In the early 2000s, he became the producer of several acclaimed Palestinian films. Ra'anan Alexandrovich's The Inner Tour (2001) was the first feature film he produced released in the United States. He then produced a short documentary, Tahaddi (2002), by Nizar Hassan. He continued his collaboration with this director on Invasion in 2003. He also worked with Rashid Masharawi on Live From Palestine, and on a number of other politically committed films that provide a real-life account of the difficulties encountered in Palestine. As an extension of this commitment, in 2008, he set up with Palmyre Badinier the production company Les Films de Zayna in Paris, which supports films by filmmakers close to his heart. Andoni himself directed several films including Fix Me, presented at the Cannes Film Festival and Sundance in 2010 and Ghost Hunt, selected at the Berlinale in 2017.
