Renato Borrayo Serrano is a filmmaker born in Guatemala who has been living in Russia since 2012. In 2017, he earned a degree in documentary filmmaking from the S. A. Guerassimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, Russia. He then attended courses at the Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov School of Documentary Film and Theatre. Since 2014, his works have been featured in numerous international film festivals. His short Film for Carlos received the Jury Honorary Prize at Dok Leipzig 2017, as well as an Honorary Jury Mention at Art Dok Fest 2017, Moscow.
