Serge Giguère

Serge Giguère is one of the major figures of documentary in Quebec. In 1974, he founded Les films d'aventure sociale du Québec with Robert Tremblay. The two filmmakers co-directed there, among other things, the documentary Belle famille (1978). Giguère then joined forces with Sylvie Van Brabant to create Les Productions du Rapide-Blanc in 1984, where he directed most of his films, including Oscar Thiffault, Finding Macpherson and most recently My Mother's Letters. First recognized for his work as a cameraman, Serge Giguère signed the images on more than sixty films. Resolutely humanist, his cinema offers intimate journeys where the real and the imaginary intermingle to open us to the secret dimension that binds us together.
