Susan Avingaq was nominate for three Genie awards for her work in Before Tomorrow (2008) as screenwriter (adapted screenplay), composer (original song) and art direction. She has been a regular participant in Arnait Video Productions since 1991 and was a key member of the production team for Qulliq (1992), Ataguttaaluk Starvation (1992) and Piujuq and Angutautuq (1994) as writer, actor and musician. A renowened seamstress and artist in the Baffin region, she is also active locally in teaching sewing traditions to younger Inuit women.
