Sylvie Lapointe has been working in the world of documentary cinema since 1995 as a filmmaker and as an assistant director, researcher and production manager for more than fifty auteur films. She has directed, produced and scripted several auteur documentaries, both short and feature films, here and elsewhere: Vue de ruelle (Montreal, 2017-2018) on urban ecology, The Lesson of the Snail (Mexico, 2012) and Simplemente una despedida (Mexico, 2017) on political education, and Yanina, guérillera ou coopérante ? (Guatemala, 2001) on social engagement. In 2018, she taught in the documentary program at l'INIS. Lapointe founded her own production company Les Productions Como Punta inc. in 2007 with the aim of creating a free creative space perpetuating the existence of documentary. In 2022, she directed a short portrait on the prolific filmmaker Fernand Dansereau (NFB) and is currently completing a master's degree in anthropology.
