Anglo-American Victor Schonfeld’s career took off with the making of the pioneering feature documentary The Animals Film, distributed theatrically in North America, Europe and Australasia. He has made a diversity of controversial films financed by British networks which have had international acclaim and won awards, including It’s a Boy!, the first ever film about male circumcision, and the ACE Award-winning theatrical documentary Shattered Dreams; Picking up the Pieces about the dream of a peaceful, progressive Israel. Schonfeld now runs the production company Beyond the Frame, and works as a freelance writer, producer and director. He has written dramatic feature screenplays commissioned by the BBC and Channel 4, won a EuroPAWS Award for the development of TV docu-drama about science, and recently completed a novel of psychological suspense set in UK. His journalism has been published in major newspapers in the UK and overseas. Schonfeld was educated at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of London, where he earned an MA in Creative Writing. He trained as a filmmaker at New York University and at the European Media Business School in Madrid.
