Virginie Brunelle is a Quebec dancer and choreographer born in 1982. She holds a bachelor's degree in dance (creation profile) from UQAM. Since the founding of her eponymous company in 2009, Virginie Brunelle has created six choreographic works that have been presented in more than fifty cities in twelve different countries. Deploying a choreographic approach that is both organic and intuitive, her works form a repertoire characterized by the raw emotion and by the humanity of the subjects tackled. In 2022, she directed Réminiscences, her first short dance film.
This short dance film brings to the screen three duets that are both sensual and brutal. Three stories overlap to tell the memory; what remains of the nostalgic sensations of their union. The choreographies sublimate the cracks that human experience generates, which sediment in us as so many emotional vestiges.
