Vivien Forsans is a Franco-Canadian animation filmmaker based in Montreal. Since 2016, he has directed six short films, which were screened and awarded in over 70 festivals around the world including TIFF Next Wave, the Sommets du Cinéma d’Animation, and the Annecy Festival. His animated film work, colorful and digital, tends to play with both narrative and experimental means, as well as genres and categories of film such as comedy, documentary, drama, and horror. His introspective works approach many social themes often revolving around mental health. In 2022, he obtained a B.F.A from Concordia University with a double major in Film Animation and Film Studies. In addition to animation, Vivien has worked extensively with video and has experience in teaching. Vivien is currently working on several projects such as his first professional short film and an opera-inspired musical while also being a freelance digital animator for short and feature films.
