From a narrow street in the city of Porto, curious and perplexed eyes meet in front of the slow demolition of a ruined Portuguese house. As this ruin crumbles day by day, the busy street changes its face. What will be left once the ruin will be gone?

In Casa Bonjardim, Camille Salvetti plunges us into a gentrifying district of Porto to show us both the ruins that inhabit it and the faces that animate it. Through images of buildings being deconstructed, then rebuilt, Salvetti manages to capture moments of everyday life that endure: the passers-by who look on, the neighbors who live nearby, and all the cats that prowl around. The result is a short film that takes a strangely distant yet deeply intimate look at a very special moment that will change the face of the neighborhood forever.
