Citius altius fortius - communiter
The same desire to go "faster, higher, stronger - together." Helgi Piccinin's delicate camerawork introduces us to Audrey and Stéphane, from the "champion" category, the real deal. Driven by the same desire to surpass themselves and the same pleasure in doing so as any other sportsman and woman in the world. The same determination, the same perseverance in training, the same sneering efforts, the same victorious smiles, the same disappointments... sometimes... endured with courage. With family and friends as their only drug, and shared joy as their only ointment, these two take us on their dream of a unique Olympic journey.
So what's so special about the Olympic Games? Perhaps the festive poetry of the diversity of bodies and gaits brought together through the sheer joy of feeling life pulsate within each of us, to propel us together and ignite us with cheers and hurrahs around the Olympic flame. Let them run to you, and run with them!
