Bruno Ramirez is a history professor at the University of Montreal. He has dedicated a significant part of his research and publications to Italian immigration in Quebec. Among his books on this subject are Les premiers Italiens de Montréal (1984) and Par monts et par vaux: migrants canadiens-français et italiens dans l’économie nord-atlantique (1992). He has also written scripts for several films about the history of Italians in Montreal, notably Paul Tana's Caffè Italia, Montréal (1985) and La sarrasine (1992).
