A Franch-German director trained in New York and living in Montreal, Joris Cottin accumulated multiple experiences as a cinematographer before turning to directing, a field he honed during his time at the Institut national de l'image et du son de Montréal (L'inis). In 2018, he made his directorial debut with the short fiction film Férale. In 2019, he continues his work with the documentary series My Zen People, followed in 2020 by the webseries French-moi, that addresses the relationship between France and Quebec, particularly through accents. Joris Cottin is interested in the mixture, the shock and the beauty of cultures. Driven by the desire to share singular stories, privileging image as his primary form of expression, he invites us to discover L'Expiration, his first documentary film.
