The main mission of PLEIN(S) ÉCRAN(S) is to enhance the discoverability of short films by making them accessible to a broader audience. On the occasion of this 4th collaboration with Tënk, our programming team wanted to highlight works that are more geared towards cinephiles, through daring documentaries, both in content and form. Some films address sensitive subjects, while others unapologetically explore the boundaries of the cinematic medium. These short films have never been and will never be presented at our annual festival, and our team is delighted to introduce you to these 5 favorites!

This short dance film brings to the screen three duets that are both sensual and brutal. Three stories overlap to tell the memory; what remains of the nostalgic sensations of their union. The choreographies sublimate the cracks that human experience generates, which sediment in us as so many emotional vestiges.
Google Maps, Wikipedia, and early 20th-century colonial landscape photography provide the material for this absorbing techno-meditation on the status of Palestine and the notion of the "Holy Land."

The triptych takes off for $14 million. Who is behind this crazy purchase ? The major collectors ? The Russian mafia ? The painter himself ? A fascinating investigation that uncompromisingly addresses the excesses ...

"There is only one moral worth in this story, one essential fact: we are nothing but ridiculous sparks in the light of the universe. May we have the wisdom not to forget it." Hubert Reeves
