Andrey Gryazev is a Russian director, screenwriter and producer born on 15 February 1982 in Moscow. He started out as a professional figure skater and later studied theatre. In 2006, he graduated from the first national television school as an editorial director. He worked as a chief cameraman and editor at Yuri Lyubimov's Taganka Theatre. He is the author of several short and feature documentaries. His films have participated in more than 50 international festivals and won several awards. Tomorrow (2012), which tells the story of an art group, was the first Russian documentary to participate in the Berlinale Forum. More recently, in 2020, he made The Foundation Pit, a documentary compiling YouTube videos in which ordinary Russian citizens, having no other way to express their concerns, address President Putin with their grievances.
