Claudie Lévesque
Claudie Lévesque lives in Montreal and has been working in the media arts for over twenty years. She collaborates with several organizations (Main Film, Les Films de l'Autre, IFCO, CQAM) on installation and programming projects. Since 2011, she has been a regular member of various film and video selection committees. In parallel, she pursues a career as a filmmaker. Her practice extends to experimental cinema and video art. Between 2005 and 2008, she took part in spontaneous creations (Montréal S8 and One Take S8) using her preferred film medium, Super 8. She produced short films shot on location, including Magie blanche (2005), starring her daughter. In the form of portraits or self-portraits, her works deal with intimate subjects involving herself or those close to her. She has made over a dozen short films, including an experimental documentary entitled My Family in 17 Takes (2011), which has been shown at numerous festivals (RIDM, Visions du Réel...). In 2012, the Independent Filmmakers Cooperative of Ottawa devoted a retrospective of her work. In 2020, she completed a master's degree in experimental media at UQAM, winning the Prix Philippe-Ménard for best research-creation thesis. In winter 2022-2023, she presents an immersive audiovisual installation entitled Ritournelles at the Cinémathèque québécoise, followed by a live art performance. The Cinémathèque is also devoting a complete retrospective of her work to close the event.

A tribute to German choreographer and dancer Pina Bausch and a nod to Chantal Akerman's film, _One Day Pina Asked_, the short _Still Pina_ evokes in its own way a well-known scene from a Pina Bausch choreography, incorporating sign language, and reveals the extent to which the body is a carrier of images and sounds. A film produced as part of a commission for works by IFCO.

The theme for 2008 was "Revenge".

_Magie blanche_ recounts moments in a young girl's day, on her 13th birthday, a Friday the 13th... This film was produced as part of the 2nd Montreal Super 8 Festival, whose very simple rule was to shoot a single 50' reel, with no post-editing. Special effects and editing were therefore created in camera, as the film was being shot.
Dorothy's Shoes
_Dorothy's Shoes_ uses the epistolary mode to reveal the intimate utopia of a woman who invents several characters for herself. Jacqueline Demers, then Karol Baker and finally Kirick, come to life and span the ages through Dorothy's imagination. Produced as part of Correspondances d'Eastman, in 2005.
My Family in 17 Takes
The youngest of 17 children, the filmmaker presents us with an intimate family portrait in 17 rolls of Super 8. Through original films and carefully constructed archives, the members of one family recount the events surrounding the death of the oldest brother and share their beliefs on life after death, into which is woven a parallel experience just as haunting to the director.
