Massimo Sarchielli (1931-2010) was an Italian actor, mime, painter, and filmmaker. He made his film debut in Federico Fellini's Juliet of the Spirits in 1965. Throughout his career, he worked with some of the greatest filmmakers, including Orson Welles, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Bernardo Bertolucci, Ettore Scola, Dario Argento, the Taviani brothers, and Spike Lee. In 1972, he met Anna in the Piazza Navona in Rome, about whom he made a film three years later, a real phenomenon and a great success with the public and the critics.
