The postal system serves as more than just a means of transportation; for these two filmmakers it becomes a conduit through which they forged a connection, weaved a tapestry and created Correspondence-dance. With each shipment by mail of both camera and 8mm film, they infuse the work with their individual perspectives and practices allowing them to transcend geographical boundaries and language barriers to co-create something that links the "Two Solitudes".

The film Correspondence-dance by Nicole Blundell and Sandy McLennan, shot on 8 mm film, explores the poetry of correspondence, remote creation, and connection maintained through tangible means—here, the film itself. This process evokes the eager anticipation of receiving a letter or a reel of film, and the response that follows. Each frame becomes an intimate moment, revealing glimpses of water, everyday textures, and fragments of spaces visited and shared between the two artists.
The 8mm film becomes a real-time visual dialogue, a living exchange unfolding for the viewer, where each artist responds through imagery. A personal poetry emerges, heightened by Kevin Blundell’s soundtrack, which weaves unity among the visual fragments. Correspondence-dance invites us to journey through the tactile sensations of film imagery and find our own resonance in this delicately woven artistic exchange.
