DocsMX is Mexico's first competitive festival devoted exclusively to documentary film. Founded in 2006 by Inti Cordera and Pau Montagud, the identity of this audiovisual event is strongly linked to the Latin American megalopolis. Throughout its history, DocsMX has included various screening activities in its programming, with cycles featuring international productions, Mexican films, short films, films aimed at young audiences, as well as numerous retrospective cycles or tributes to filmmakers. In 2023, for its 18th edition, the whole documentary genre will be celebrated in the streets, squares and cinemas of Mexico City, from 12 to 21 October.
