Três Tigres Tristes

Poster image Três Tigres Tristes

São Paulo, in a dystopian future not so far from the present. A virus is circulating, attacking mainly the brain and the ability to remember. Three young queer friends drift through a city bled white by the pandemic and rampant capitalism, remembering their dead lovers, sharing their experiences with HIV, getting make-up tips for masked faces and finally reuniting with other social misfits in the living room of a singer named Mirta.

In this dystopia that openly flirts with reality and dares to occasionally dive into utopia, Gustavo Vinagres invites us to follow Isabella, Pedro, and Jonata, three young queer individuals, on a fabulous odyssey through São Paulo, ravaged by a mysterious and endless pandemic that has taken root in the rotten foundations of capitalism. Filled with improbable encounters, this languid wandering of the three companions finds the appropriate tempo for their ironic and disillusioned view of the contemporary situation to be expressed in words, while constantly making room for magical and surprising appearances. From a makeup star working on the street to a pet store run by a drag queen, or from the chaos of an antique shop to a surreal cabaret, nightmares blend with dreams, and the absurdity of the world seems to flow over the camaraderie of our three sad tigers.
