Laura Thomassaint

Laura Thomassaint was born in 1993 in a public housing estate in Val-d’Oise, to an Andalusian mother and a father with a mysterious past. She joined the theatre track at a public high school, then supported herself by working as a cashier for a major DIY retail chain, while studying theatre at the Sorbonne and at a drama conservatory. She wrote and directed her first plays (Je voudrais en aucun cas qu’on me vole ma mort, Autel Paradise et Réunion de personnes sensibles, etc., staged at venues such as Théâtre de la Loge and Le DOC). From the start, her stories have revolved around grief, often embodied by characters who do and say what is considered unacceptable.
