Since 2016, Les monteurs à l’affiche has been an annual event dedicated to highlighting the work of editing professionals and sharing with audiences some of the challenges encountered at this crucial stage in the creation of any cinematographic work.
At the most recent edition, two discussion panels were devoted to short films. Editors had the opportunity to discuss their work on experimental films, documentaries, fiction, and dance films. These exchanges create a space to reflect on how the intimate relationship between filmmaker and editor leaves its imprint on the creative act — one that shapes the rhythm, breath, and meaning of the image.
