The 100th Day

Poster image The 100th Day

Hungarian-born Canadian artist Istvan Kantor has spent half a century creating a singular and radical body of work in which performance, actionism, and body art challenge the audience’s sensory conventions. In 1993, he took part in the exhibition _Les Cent jours d’art contemporain de Montréal_, presenting a dual installation that was completely demolished on the hundredth day in a violent and cathartic act of destruction. Using this exhibition as a starting point, the film explores the world of an eccentric artist who divides his time between his studios in Toronto and Montreal and has mastered the art of subversion.
