Built around a conversation between mother and daughter, this short film, made through Wapikoni Mobile, creates a relationship between “the before and the now.” With meticulous focus, the camera tracks the interior of a tent. The design and contents of this traditional dwelling are laid out before us, while the conversation turns around what life was like in this space, imprinted with the family and community dynamics present in that era. With intimate proximity, the camera observes the mother as she speaks in a space filled with photographs of memories and some traces of the present day, to the point that it transforms into a modern home. Inniun Ueshkat Mak Anutshish uses clever techniques to juxtapose temporalities and help us imagine the future.
