Alice Brygo

Born in 1996 in Montpellier, France, Alice Brygo is graduated from ENSAD Paris and Le Fresnoy. Her artistic practice is situated at the borders between documentary, fantasy cinema and art installation. Her short film Soum premiered in Berlinale Shorts competition and was awarded Best Student Film in Go Short, Lichter Art award, and Grand Prize at Brive international cinema festival. She is interested in the intimate relationships that humans have with buildings as a pretext for encounters between different social groups, particularly in the Paris region: squatters with troubled identities reappropriating a disused bank, plural crowds in front of the Notre-Dame fire, or marginal communities taking over the imposing architecture of a highway interchange. Her work bears witness to a generational uncertainty in the face of a troubled era, questioning the imaginary of survival, catastrophe and community building through symbolic appropriation.
