Born in Paris in 1994, Aliha Thalien is a director, videographer, and visual artist interested in the intimate and lived experience. The interpretation and transmission of emotions, affects, intergenerational trauma, and minority experiences are at the heart of her approach. She holds a Master's degree in Cinema from the Sorbonne, as well as a National Superior Diploma in Visual Arts from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. These two programs have allowed her to develop a practice in cinema, installation, and sculpture. Her work has been shown on several occasions at international film festivals and exhibitions. In 2019, she directed her first short film Feu Soleil, which was selected for the Brive Film Festival and La Cabina in Valencia, among others. She then directed Saint-Yves Prophète in 2020, followed by Mon amie Moïra in 2021.
